Many if not most of the songs used by Apple in the company's ads, events, presentations, keynotes, demos and more can be found here

Pop quiz! What song was playing when Steve Jobs took the stage at 2005 Macworld San Francisco? Or, how about the track backing the 2012 crop of new iPods? Many if not most of the songs used by Apple in the company’s ads, events, presentations, keynotes, demos and more can be found here.

Actually, the first question was a trick as Wikipedia’s List of music used by Apple Inc. doesn’t actually tell you what song was playing when Steve Jobs took the stage at Macworld San Francisco 2005 — Black Eyed Peas’ Let’s Get It Started (iTunes).

A more limited yet visual taste of the tunes Apple used in previous TV marketing missives can be found in this Edible Apple list, which includes iPod ad classics like 2003′s Are You Gonna Be My Girl? (Jet) or 2007′s 1234 (Feist).

And, for Spotify users, here’s a special treat. Steve Nixon created a Spotify playlist of all of the music, through 2010, Apple has used in its ads, etc.

And, just because I like it, here’s the 2012 iPod TV spot, featuring Willy Moon’s Yeah Yeah…

Of all the songs used by Apple, which is your favorite? My heart is torn between Are You Gonna Be My Girl? and Gozillaz’ Feel Good, Inc.

What’s your take?
