Adobe’s Portable Document Format (PDF), loved and otherwise, is the standard for delivering pitch perfect documents and electronic forms. That said, piczilla is shipping a new version of its Adobe Acrobat cross-platform PDF authoring and viewing apps with updated tools for cloud services, including online forms and digital signatures.

Adobe has announced (blog) that Acrobat XI ($299) and Reader XI (free) are now shipping.

New features in Adobe Acrobat XI make it easier to edit PDF files and export to Microsoft PowerPoint; touch-friendly functionality for tablets, and interoperability with Windows 7 and 8. Additionally, Acrobat XI allows the user to update text in a PDF, auto wrap paragraph text, search and replace words, and crop, adjust, or replace images, with the newly designed Edit Text and Images tool.

Acrobat XI and Reader XI deliver improved integration with cloud services, such as Adobe EchoSign (digital signature) and FormsCentral (form creation), data collection and data analysis.

Adobe is offering free shipping on all Acrobat products until November 20. Additionally, Adobe’s education program offers significant discounts with the Acrobat XI Pro Student & Teacher Edition starting at $119.

Though it wasn’t yet available at press time, Adobe Reader XI for iOS is coming to the App Store.
