Apple isn't yet selling the new 2012 iMac yet and has stopped sales of new-in-box 2011 models. However, refurbished iMacs can still be had at reduced prices

Do you really need an iMac? Apple isn’t yet selling the new 2012 iMacs yet — 21-inch coming in November, 27-inch in December — and has stopped sales of new-in-box 2011 models. However, refurbished iMacs can still be had and prices have been cut (again).

Following the Tuesday, October 23 introduction of 2012 iMac models, Apple stopped selling new-in-box 2011 models. That’s the bad news, the good news is that all four previous-gen models are still available and the mothership has trimmed refurbished iMac prices by $20 or more with the biggest markdowns on the high-end models.

For what it’s worth, new-in-box 2011 iMacs are available at Amazon with stock and selection very limited. MacConnection is listing all models as “on order” and MacMall lists five to seven day availability, which seems unlikely.
