Borderlands 2 for Mac now shipping

What do you get when you mix, think digital alchemy, the action of a first person shooter (FPS) and strategy of a role playing game (RPG)? In general, this new genre is called the role playing shooter (RPS) and the specific example is Borderlands 2 for Mac.
Aspyr is now shipping Borderlands 2 for Mac and it arrives just a couple months after the PC release — not day and date, but pretty good nonetheless. This title comes to market with a range of new characters, enemies, weapons, environments and more:
— New Characters and Classes, including the Gunzerker, which can dual-wield any two weapons in the game — machine guns, rocket launchers, knives, etc
— Play Online with Friends: Both Mac and PC through a seamless system that allows users to drop in and drop out of a campaign without ever having to restart the game
— World Connected Story: Left for dead in the frozen tundra of Pandora, begin your quest of revenge and redemption as the story drives you closer to the Hyperion Corporation and its evil founder, Handsome Jack
— New Badass Gun System: Millions upon millions of possible weapons — fire, electricity, corrosive acid are your disposal
— Brand new environments: From the arctic tundra, through dangerous grasslands, past the mysterious corrosive caverns and beyond; discover more of the unpredictable world of Pandora
— Brand new enemies: Hulking, gorilla-like Bullymongs, vicious predatory Stalkers and Handsome Jack’s Hyperion mechanical army
Borderlands 2 for Mac requires a Mac with an Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM, 13GB HDD, Radeon HD 2600 or GeForce 8800 (and up) with at least 256MB VRAM all running OS X 10.7.5 or 10.8.2. You will also need a Mac keyboard and mouse.
As of this writing, Borderlands 2 for Mac is listed as available for pre-order on Game Agent ($59.99). However, the folks at MacUpdate are offering, one week only, Borderlands 2 for Mac for 25 percent off or $44.99.
Lastly, the original Borderlands for Mac is available on the Mac App Store for $29.99, which I mention because it only requires a Mac with Intel HD 3000 graphics and, obviously, OS X 10.6.6 or later. Additionally, the title was updated in August of this year, which seems to indicate it will run on OS X Mountain Lion.
