The iPad mini is compelling. However, if you just need a slab for a particular price, then the Apple Certified Factory Refurbished iPad is a better value

If you need a smaller tablet, the iPad mini is a compelling product. However, if you just need a slab for a particular price, then Apple Certified Factory Refurbished iPads are a much better value — same processor, graphics and memory with a much larger display (7.9 vs 9.7 inch) — for less.

Yes, indeed, the iPad mini is now shipping from $329 and the reviews have been very good. Nevertheless, the best Apple tablet values are refurbished iPads.
