With less than a week to go before jolly ol’ Saint Nick takes to the skies, Apple seeded OS X 10.8.3 12D43, the third beta release of this Mountain Lion maintenance update. What’s new in this beta? Devs are just tucking in and Apple isn’t saying much.

According to a trusted canine source*, OS X 10.8.3 12D43 arrives no known issues or new features, though the mothership has asked developers to focus their testing/attention on AirPlay, AirPort, Game Center, Graphics Drivers, and Safari.

And, for what it’s worth, our source reports that turning off the Screen Saver feature (set the time to “Never”) resolves most if not all of the display issues Apple previously warned developers to expect with OS X 10.8.3 betas.

Again, however, 12D43 arrives with no known issues.

[u] Apple issued OS X 10.8.3 12D44 late Thursday. Our canine source believes this latest build was released to alleviate a nasty crashing issue.
