If you were especially nice this year, Santa may have blessed you with a new Mac or iThing — here's how to get remove your old devices from Find My iPhone.

Or, for that matter, remove a Mac or iPod touch from Find My iPhone. If you were especially nice this year, Santa may have blessed your stocking with a new Apple computer or iThing — here’s how to remove your old devices from Find My iPhone.

There are two steps to remove your old iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and/or Mac from Find My iPhone with the first being the device itself. On your Mac (1a), go to System Preferences > iCloud and then uncheck “Find My Mac.”

The procedure on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch (1b) is similar: Go to Settings > iCloud > Find My “iThing” and move the slider to the “Off” position.

The second step (2) to remove your Apple device from the iCloud service itself. On your Mac or PC, visit iCloud.com and log into your account. Click “Find My iPhone” and then click “Devices” — select the Mac or iThing you want to remove.

Now, as shown in the image above, click the “X” and then confirm by clicking “Remove.”

And, you are done…
