Ladies and gentlemen, please begin speculating wildly… now. Apple is telling developers that iTunes Connect will be down for a few hours on Saturday, January 26. Given the imminent release of iOS 6.1, it’s easy to leap to the conclusion that something more than maintenance is planned.

iTunes Connect will undergo scheduled maintenance for approximately four hours starting at 8 p.m. (PT) on Saturday, January 26.

During this time, content delivery and iTunes Connect will not be available.

The game’s afoot? Developers and users alike have been waiting for iOS 6.1 with abated breath with the angst edging up following the news that that Golden Master is in testing.

Isn’t interesting that iTunes Connect is going down for scheduled maintenance now? I think so, too…
