Skype for Mac 6.1 Improves Click to Call, User Profile

Lots of folks, such as moi, like to complain about Skype for Mac, especially now that it’s owned by Microsoft. Nevertheless, the dominant voice over IP, chat and video calling solution is just that — still dominant.
Moreover, kvetch as we do, Skype just keeps delivering new features and bug fixes — they are working it. That said, Skype 6.1 (blog) is now available with new features and improvements said to include:
• Click to Call: Allows Skype users to dial numbers from Safari on Mac
• Improved user profile view — User account pages (image above) is now easily accessible via profile view
For what it’s worth, my overseas relatives have taken with gusto to LINE (free), an IM, VOIP and video chat app available for iOS and Android. One of the nifty features of LINE is the ability to interact either one-to-one or one-to-many — pretty cool.
Are you still using Skype? Like LINE or do Apple’s Message + FaceTime scratch your itch? Sound off in the comments below…
