Don't know why I installed Java for Mac, but it is. So, I must update it and here have some of that — fresh versions from the good people at Apple

Don’t know why I installed Java for Mac, but there it is. Sort of like an ex-girlfriend’s cat that you’re obligated to taking care of. Fresh Mac for Java versions are available from the good people at Apple for the last three versions of OS X.

— Scans for common variants of the malware in question and removing them
— If malware is found, the user will be notified of its removal
— Java for OS X 2013-001 delivers improved security, reliability and compatibility by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_41

• Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 13, download
— Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 13 delivers improved security, reliability and compatibility by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_41

As these are Java for Mac updates, security content features prominently.
