Many say that 2012 was a great year for Mac gaming — Borderlands 2, Guild Wars 2, Batman: Arkham City all shipped. Now, here comes Max Payne 3 for Mac.

More than a few observers have noted that 2012 was a great year for Mac gaming — Borderlands 2, Guild Wars 2, Batman: Arkham City, Diablo III, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Company of Heroes and others have all shipped. And, here come a few more, including Max Payne 3 for Mac.

AJ Collins at RockstarNexus reports that Max Payne 3 for Mac, to be release on Steam, is currently testing.

A recent update to Steam’s game database has revealed Rockstar is in the testing stages of an OSX port of Max Payne 3 using TransGaming’s Cider technology. The tech has been used in the past to bring other Rockstar titles to OSX such as the Grand Theft Auto III trilogy. While the port has not yet been officially announced, the evidence is pretty solid.

Collins adds that the Steam database has been the source for a number of title leaks in the past, though there’s no word yet on when to expect a release. Nor is there additional information about Grand Theft Auto III.

So, by all means, keep your eyes here for the news about Max Payne 3 Mac, and GTA III, as it becomes available…
