Three new Final Cut Pro X promos and a slew of Apple pro video software updates, including a major Maya release, all on one day…

A big day for Apple pro video and with a major Maya update available, too. Leverage, Apple is expert at making the most of its resources. Today, the company posted a trio of webpages promoting Final Cut Pro X and, just to pump up the volume, also pushed out FCP X, Motion, Compressor and QT Codecs.

• Final Cut Pro 10.0.8 (MAS, $299.99)
— Support for Sony XAVC codec up to 4K resolution
— Option to display ProRes Log C files from ARRI ALEXA cameras with standard Rec. 709 color and contrast levels
— Resolves an issue where some third-party effects generated green frames during render
— Resolves performance issues that could occur with certain titles and effects

• Maya 2014 (release notes)
— GPU Caching Improvements
— Optimize how your graphics card processes Alembic-based GPU cache files with new GPU Cache Configuration preferences.
— Write Materials lets you export Lambert and Phong materials from source geometry to GPU cache files. These materials are rendered when the cache is played back in Viewport 2.0.
— New GPU Cache Import options let you specify the time range and start frame when importing GPU caches into Maya.
— What’s New Highlight: You can now easily identify new features in Maya using the What’s New Highlight.

— Removes 1GB file size limit for uploads to Vimeo
— Fixes a stability issue when playing back certain MPEG-2 files
— Fixes a stability issue in Qmaster when processing multiple jobs

• ProApps QuickTime Codecs v1.0.2 (download)
— This update adds the following video codecs for use by QuickTime-based applications: Apple Intermediate Codec, Apple ProRes, AVC-Intra, DVCPRO HD, HDV, XDCAM HD / EX / HD422, MPEG IMX, Uncompressed 4:2:2, XAVC
