Apple claims more than 400 million active iTunes accounts. Last year, all of those people, and their credit cards, delivered $8.5 billion in iTunes revenue for Apple. That said, a fresh survey out of Britain provides another interesting way to measure that success, average iTunes account value.

According to My Voucher Codes (UK), which surveyed 1,324 British users, the average iTunes account is worth £345 or about $515.72 in lifetime to date revenue.

• Average users have purchased 231 songs (£228.69) and nine albums (£71.91)
• Average users purchased four movies (£39.96) and three books (£4.47)
• 37 percent of respondents buy something at least once a month
• 30 percent purchase iTunes content weekly
• 5 percent say buy iTunes media on a daily basis
• 32 percent replied they only purchase media from iTunes

And, the biggest factor driving this amazing level of loyalty? According to the survey, “they only buy from iTunes because it allows them to keep everything together in one place, while 19 percent of those respondents said that they buy from iTunes because they’re ‘Apple users only.'”

iTunes Account Value: It’s a Relationship

Yes, iTunes is the world’s leading digital media outlet — no one else comes close. Further, Apple’s Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod platforms are unrivaled vis-a-vis customer satisfaction and loyalty.

However, Apple’s marriage of hardware, software and services seal deal. Certainly works for me, though I probably haven’t delivered $515.72 for Apple. At least not yet…
