Will Siri Eyes Free be yet another over-the-top Apple hit or the next MobileMe? General Motors is quite obviously betting on the former with a new TV spot.

Will Siri Eyes Free be yet another over-the-top Apple hit or the next MobileMe? Although Siri is still said to be in “beta,” General Motors is quite obviously betting on the former and has begun marketing Siri Eyes Free with a new 30 second TV spot.

The ad, which is bathed in white, seems inspired by the minimalist style used by Apple in its house product intros, featuring Jony Ive and other top executives. The action, per se, focuses on the one-touch Chevy MyLink + Siri interface — a beautiful girl getting a text from a male friend followed by smiles, some elicited by a joke from Apple’s digital assistant.

Although General Motors is the first automaker out of the gate with both cars and marketing, Honda, BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover, Jaguar, Audi, Toyota and Chrysler have all committed to Siri Eyes Free. The Chevrolet Spark and Sonic are the first GM cars to offer the feature.
