Grab that duck by the scruff of the neck and put ‘im where ‘e goes. Along with the bushels of Spring snow, we have buckets of blood and Mac updates, including tweaks from Adium, PopChar X and Mac media center platform XBMC. And, how about those surging Mac sales?

• Adium 1.5.6 (version history, download)
— Fix a crash on startup on OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
— Fix a crash when accepting or canceling the certificate verification dialog. (#16280)
— Fix a crash or hang when trying to use OTR on 32-bits Macs. (#16203)

• PopChar 6.2 (release notes, download)
— The command-F keyboard shortcut enters the search field.
— It is now possible to immediately start a search by typing the search string when the cursor is in PopChar’s character table.
— New context menu command “Copy Character Description” copies a brief summary of the selected Unicode character to the clipboard.
— New context menu item “Copy Font List” for copying the list of font names to the clipboard.
— Support for Unicode 6.2.

• XBMC 12.1 (blog, download)
— XBMC now supports using OSX’s default output device for audio as well as hardware decoding with Intel GPUs in OSX
— XBMC no longer hogs audio for Linux and on resume audio will continue to work in Linux
— Full iPhone 5 resolution is now enabled
— Volume buttons on Android devices now control Android volume, rather than XBMC volume
— Volume buttons on OSX devices once again control OSX volume, rather than XBMC volume

And, who would’ve thunk it? Whereas most folks expected Mac sales to rebound once Apple started making enough iMacs, the surge has continued with double-digit increases rolling across January, February and — it’s believed — this month, as well.

Tim Cook is killing it? Except for not making enough iMacs to satisfy Christmas demand, yes…
