Here are the innovative second acts of upcycled iMacs now living out their final days as hanging ceiling lamps in an adventure travel agency

What do people do with old Dell and HP computers? I imagine, having never owned one, they are just happy to throw them away. However, old Macs and, in particular, original iMacs often get upcycled and go on to have interesting second careers.

Yes, you probably know about the iMac cat cozy, iMac fish tank and perhaps have even seen the rare and wonderful Power Mac G5 skateboard. But how about upcycled iMacs that are now hanging ceiling lamps?

Instagrammer Jenny Serwylo — a self-styled writer, comedian and traveler — snapped pics of the innovative second lives of the upcycled iMac ceiling lamps that grace the offices of G Adventures, an adventure travel agency, where she works.

And, yes, those do look like newer iMacs adorning the desks of the workers at G Adventures. Looks like a pretty cool — neat tools, neater toys and interesting work — place to draw a paycheck…
