OS X 10.8.4 12E52 Seeded to Devs
Wednesday is the new Tuesday. Registered Apple developers have gotten used to receiving fresh interim Mountain Lion update betas on Tuesday evening. This week’s “no known issues” and focus on “Wi-Fi, Graphics Drivers and Safari” excitement arrived a day later — OS X 10.8.4 12E52 is here in all of its glory.
Here’s the last write up…
If you could dig deep enough, buried somewhere in the current OS X web usage by version data, you would find people using OS X 10.8.4 and even OS X 10.9. Although little is known about Apple’s next big desktop OS release, additional information about the next interim Mountain Lion update is trickling out.
It’s widely accepted that 802.11ac, or gigabit Wi-Fi, has been baked into OS X 10.8.4. Further, another source that’s crawled around inside developer betas has also found Geforce GTX TITAN drivers.
OS X 10.8.4: Updated Apps
Quoting unnamed sources familiar with OS X 10.8.4, the Fairer Platform has previously reported that Mail 6.5 is among the new items, though no details about what has changed are available. Likewise, Safari 6.0.5.
An ongoing issue with OS X 10.8.4 in particular and Mountain Lion in general, something users self-report often in forums, is poor/unreliable graphic driver performance — Apple has asked developers to focus on graphics in the current beta, as well as previous interim ML updates.
