Although pretty much everyone is focussed on OS X 10.9 Mavericks and all of the good things it will bring, Apple continues to develop and release OS X Mountain Lion flavored updates. Behold OS X 10.8.5 12F9, which arrives with no known issues, a modest few focus areas and a lot of updated kext, etc files.

Just a couple weeks after shipping OS X 10.8.4 to public, Apple has seeded OS X 10.8.5 and has asked developers to focus their testing efforts and acumen on Wi-Fi, Graphics, Wake from Sleep and PDF viewing + Accessibility. Again, there are no known issues listed.

For what it’s worth, a MacRumors forum post lists dozens of updated kexts and frameworks, including many updated graphics drivers — butt tonnes.

According to 9 to 5 Mac, OS X 10.8.5 beta has also been seeded to Apple Store specialists and Geniuses. Interestingly enough, Apple has also invited Apple Store associates to participate in the OS X 10.9 Mavericks beta program, as well.
