Opera 15 Update Hits Bugs, Opera 16 Beta Available, iPhone Rocks Mobile!
Opera Software dumped their old browser core, Presto, for Chromium (a.k.a. WebKit) some months ago and, it must be said, Opera 15 has been a refreshing change. That said, there’s an update, a whole number beta and iPhones rule mobile.
Yes, Opera 15 is fast, clean and not quite done. But, that’s OK because Opera Software is progressive and active.
And, here comes Opera 16, which is in beta and available.
iPhone Rocks Mobile
When people think about Opera, the browsers — mobile and desktop — come to mind. However, Opera also owns a mobile advertising and, by extension, analytics platform.
That said, they have lots of data on mobile usage and advertising. Unsurprisingly, they found pretty much what everyone else with numbers has found recently.
Whereas Android and iPhone are roughly equivalent in terms of ad impressions, the iPhone comes out well ahead when it comes to ad revenue, 36.44 vs 28.08, respectively. Further thereto, iOS accounts for 49.36 of mobile ad revenue.
