What will be new and interesting in OS X 10.8.5? Meh, it’s an interim maintenance update that’s about bug fixes and, aside from what areas devs should focus their testing on, Apple is tight lipped about those changes, too.

Per established practice, OS X 10.8.5 12F17 arrives sans known issues and Apple is asking dev guys n’ dolls to focus testing on WiFi, Graphics, Wake from Sleep, PDF viewing and Accessibility, and Mobile Device Management during their testing.

The two latter items, PDF and Mobile, were added in last developer beta (12F13) about a week ago.

Additionally, it’s also believed that OS X 10.8.5 will deliver Mail 6.6 (vs Mail 6.5 in OS X 10.8.4), though what newness that might bring isn’t known. At least not yet.

Further, as previously reported, OS X 10.8.5 has not only been seeded to developers, but Apple’s frontline retail troops, too.

Laid hands on OS X 10.8.5 and have something to say — good, bad or anyhoo? Sound off in the comments below or send us an email
