Walmart Wants to Be Your Apple Store

The lowest upfront price for the iPhone 5c on Verizon or AT&T? That would be $45 with two-year contract at Walmart. Or, the lowest iPhone 5c TCO is the $79 down + $45 data + $25 device deal via Straight Talk exclusively via Walmart (in-store only).

The deals listed here are just a few of the solid offers available at Walmart. And, for what it’s worth, when I’m shopping for other than Mac Apple gear, Walmart is on my list of places that I price check — gotta do it, especially refurbish iThings.

• iPhone 5C, $45 w/ 2yr (99)
— Verizon, AT&T, Sprint

• 4th Generation iPod touch, $175 (199)

• Refurbished 16GB iPad 4, $399 (419)

It’s true that Best Buy and Radio Shack also have the same $45 price + 2yr contract iPhone 5c offer. That said, for tens of millions of Americans, Walmart is shopping because no other retailer can match the convenience of buying milk, tires, prescriptions, produce, eye glasses, art supplies clothing and, yes, Apple products at a single location.

And, their prices, as shown above, are often pretty darned competitive…
