For those of you still spraying $8,000 a gallon ink (laser is more economical) onto processed and bleached dead trees, Apple is pushing fresh Mac printer driver updates for Canon and HP printers. But who am to snark? As Star Trek’s Jean Luc Picard clearly demonstrated, there will still be books in the 24th Century…

• Canon Laser Printer Drivers v2.11 for OS X (download)
— Installs the latest software for your Canon Laser printer or scanner
— Supported Canon laser printers

• HP Printer Drivers v.2.14 for OS X (download)
— Includes the latest HP printing and scanning software for OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard
— Supported HP printers

And, for you geeky few, the most recent version of CUPS for Mac is CUPS v1.6.4. The boldest cats and kittens will wanna go for CUPS 1.7rc1.

However, you’ll have to find the link for yourselves — I won’t be accused of contributing to the delinquency of good, upstanding Mac folk.
