Some folks buy the newest Macs as soon as they ship, while others are a little more circumspect with their time and money. That said, Apple has just released what are likely the first round firmware updates for 13 and 15 inch 2013 MacBook Pro models.

• MacBook Pro Retina EFI Update v1.3 (download)
— This update is recommended for MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, late 2013) models
— Addresses an issue where the built-in keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad may become unresponsive
— Requires OS X 10.9

• MacBook Pro Retina EFI Update v1.2 (download)
— Addresses an issue which, in rare cases, may limit the performance of the discrete graphics processor after a system wake or boot
— Recommended for MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, late 2013) models w/ NVIDIA graphics
— Requires OS X 10.9

For what it’s worth, Apple acknowledged on Halloween that some 13-inch MacBook Pros were experiencing unresponsive keyboard and trackpad issues. They promised a fix and, assuming truth in advertising, those issues have now been resolved.
