Get iWork for Free? Where to Download iWork ’09 Demo

Honestly, even though iWork ’09 found its way onto SWIM’s “new” (2011 refurbished) iMac and upgrading to Mavericks, I’ve hesitated publishing this tip. Now, an A-list pub has run the story and, well, that was that… Here’s how to get the latest version iWork for free (endless, gut churning guilt included).

You need to download or otherwise get a copy of iWork ’09 Demo. Apple doesn’t offer it anymore, but Softpedia does, assuming you click the right buttons.

But, first things first, quit the Mac App Store app. Now, head over to Softpedia and follow the images below…

Once you’ve downloaded and installed iWork ’09 Demo, open of the apps — Pages, Numbers or Keynote — choose the 30-day demo option and, once it’s running, quit it. Then wait a few minutes — go grab a fresh cup.

When you get back, fire up the Mac App Store, click Updates and wait for the magic to happen — once the updates populate, download them and the latest versions of the iWork apps, free and clear (as your conscience), will appear on your Mac…
