Mac Keyboard Shortcuts: Instant Mac Emoji Access

6 November 2013 8,005 views No Comment

Looking to get things done quickly and efficiently on your Mac? Tired of mousing around? Here is a keyboard shortcut that brings up the Mac Emoji character palette with minimal fuss.

Whereas there are a couple different ways to access the Mac Emoji character palette, this absolutely the fastest way and, as far I as can tell, it works in any app: Command + Control + Spacebar.

In fact, using that keyboard shortcut you actually get access to your Mac’s to the full character palette — hundreds of symbols, characters, icons, punctuation, arrows and more.

Although I can’t say that this Mac Emoji keyboard shortcut is new to OS X Mavericks, I do know that it doesn’t work in OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Alternately, if you’re just not a keyboard (shortcut) jockey, here’s how to get to the character palette without stretching your fingers. Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources and click the “Show Input menu in menu bar” item.

Thereafter, when you want to access the character palette, simply click the American flag (as applicable) in the menu bar and then select “Character Viewer.”
