It is a very simple question with no easy answer. Should I buy Apple TV now or wait? While Apple is certainly working on and will release a new TV something, “When?” is an open question.

However, if you have been sitting on the fence, Apple has a straight-forward incentive for you — buy a new Apple TV and get a $25 iTunes Gift Card. Get it online or at your local brick n’ mortar Apple Store, the offer is good through the end of March.

Alternately, skip the gift card voodoo and go for a straight discount by getting a refurbished Apple TV for just $75.

And, what was that about the end of March? Does that look like an answer to “when” to you? Maybe. It has been widely rumored that a new Apple TV, or an “Apple television product,” is coming in April.

However, Loop Insight’s Jim Dalrymple has all but killed the notion. Is new Apple TV coming soon, Jim? He replied in his usual verbose terms, “Nope.”

Now, what do you think, 25 bucks is 25 bucks, right? Buy Apple TV now and save, either way…

or NO! Assuming this means a new model is around the corner, we don’t know what exciting features it might have that won’t be compatible with the current version. Is it really worth taking a chance to save $25? I say no… I can always buy a used or refurbed one on eBay should the newer model turn out to not be that fantastic.
