Advertising. Whatever you want to sell, displaying it next to or on an Apple product is generally considered a good idea. Unless, of course, you’re selling Microsoft Windows. Dell has been caught using OS X to sell its XPS 15 notebook — just swipe to switch!

While the Dell marketing video showing a user swiping between Windows 8 and OS X has been removed, The Verge snagged a copy before it was removed.

And, of course, the only notebooks that can legally run Windows 8 and OS X side-by-side are made by Apple. It is possible, however, to hack a Dell XPS 15 to run OS X.

While probably Dell didn’t make that video, an advertising agency did. And, whether or not anyone at Dell noticed, they used used an OS X app to advertise their product.

Embarrassing? Only a little because almost no one would notice and even fewer actually care.

Funny? Always…

What’s your take?
