Apple’s new iPhone 5s Powerful TV spot is very, very aspirational (clip below). As with most Apple advertising, the products take a back seat to people actually doing stuff. In this case, the iPhone 5s and iPhone apps shown are vehicles/tools — you’re not buying stuff, you’re getting a better and more talented/enabled you.

Yep, apps are for doing stuff and here’s the stuff being done in Apple’s new iPhone 5s Powerful TV spot:

— AmpliTube, $13.99: Turn your iPhone®/iPod touch® into the ultimate mobile guitar-and-bass multi-FX processor and DAW recording studio
— Cleartune, $3.99: A chromatic instrument tuner and pitch pipe
— Instant Heart Rate, $1.99: See every heart beat on the monitor, just like in ER rooms. Measure your heart rate instantly
— Luminair for iOS, $129.99: Advanced creative lighting control for Live Entertainment, Film/TV production, Architecture and beyond
— Pacific Rim, $0.99: An all-new action fighting game inspired by the WB Pictures and Legendary Pictures film from acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro
— Star Walk, $0.99: The most beautiful stargazing app you’ve ever seen on a mobile device
— Word Lens, Free: See the world in your language: instantly translate printed words using your built-in video camera, in real time

It’s highly unlike that Samsung or other Android cloners will attempt aspirational advertising for one simple reason — because they’re still trying to become Apple, still trying to match the iPhone. Dream on, babies, dream on…

What’s your take?
