Cord Cutters to Cable TV: We Don’t Miss You
If young people are the future, then satellite and cable TV providers need to sit up and take notice. Millennials are not only most likely to never have had cable, but are also most likely to be happy cord cutters.
Oh, and those that have quit cable TV won’t be going back anytime soon.
Fresh market research from nScreenMedia shows that 84 percent of cord cutters are at least a little happy with their choice. Of those, 37 percent say they don’t miss cable and will never go back to $100, $200 or more every month.
Here’s a break down of the answers to the question, “Which, if anything, do you miss the most since canceling your pay TV service?”
And, “absolutely nothing” is in a statistical dead heat as the most popular answer.
That said, nScreenMedia reports that 17 percent of US broadband consumers had cable TV, but have cut the cord. Overall, however, 10 percent of US consumers have never had cable TV.
Further, millennials are heavily represented in the group that have never had cable.
Yep, the future is cord cutting and that is a very good thing™…
