About This Mac and System Profiler have merged in OS X 10.10, sort of. This evolving feature of OS X Yosemite enhances About This Mac, while retaining the text-centric System Profiler while combining both into a single, multi-window app called System Information 10.10.

And, in case you’ve forgotten what “About This Mac” looks like, here’s grab of it in OS X 10.9 Mavericks running on a MacBook Air.

Unfortunately with Service, Apple still requires the user to jump onto the internet in order to learn about existing warranty and support options — one would think that would be essentially built in.

Again, most of what we’re seeing was there in OS X Mavericks, Apple has just kept evolving About This Mac. So much so that About This Mac no longer exist, though the services therein keep getting better.

All in all, OS X 10.10 Yosemite System Information 10.10 representatives a solid gain for users…
