Mavericks users and Yosemite beta testers report Apple is pushing updated versions of the voices its offers with OS X 10.9 and, coming this Fall, OS X 10.10. Aside from the same boilerplate description, Apple isn’t saying what changed.

Voice Update Version 4.0.1, which delivers pronunciation and clarity improvements, for the Allison, Ava, Fiona, Kate, Moira, Samantha, Serena, Susan and Veena voices in OS X are available for download via Software Update.

Earlier this week, Apple pushed OS X 10.10 Yosemite Developer Preview 3, which introduced Dark Mode to developers. And, last week, OS X 10.9.4 and Security Update 2014-003 were released to the public.
