Yes, back in 1986, the Apple Clothing Collection was a thing. While it is easy to look back and laugh + eye roll, the Apple Collection was hardly unique and thank goodness there weren’t, as far as we know, Apple branded leggings.

So, cue up Prince’s U Got the Look and feast your eyes on the 1986 Apple Collection, which is a sight sure to cause sore eyes.

In truth, I would like a whole closet of this stuff, of course, updated for Apple’s new marketing collateral and colors. Ready to hit the links in the Apple clothing collection? Meh, let’s just lunch at the club, ‘k?

Any mom or dad who dressed their kids thusly should be… A yellow bow, really?

Personally, I prefer stoney ’70s Apple babe, but I am well nigh ancient. What’s your favorite Apple clothing look?

Apple STILL sells a clothes, far more than shown here, at the Company Store on the Cupertino Campus.

I still have my T-Shirt from WWDC ’91. Alas, the other shirt was stolen (along with the rest of my bags) going to WWDC in ’09.

In the late 80s, the company I worked for was meeting with our evangelist and we went out one night. Coming from Florida, we weren’t used to the “cold” California nights and nobody had packed anything even slightly warm. We stopped off at our evangelist’s place where he pulled out a half-dozen Apple sweatshirts like the black one in the top picture.

    I wish I’d kept it…

That’s one thing I miss about WWDC in San Jose. When it was down there, Apple was very free with the T-shirts and conference shirts. I’d usually haul back a half-dozen Apple shirts. Once they moved to SF, though, it was one to a customer and that’s it. No amount of sweet-talking would get you a second (or third or fourth…)

(Coincidentally, I’m wearing my “I visited the mothership” T-Shirt today…)
