Since Apple began shipping their smaller tablet on November 2, 2012, it has been on back order. Buyers could, until very recently, expect to wait three or four weeks before taking delivery. Now, more than a month after the Christmas rush, iPad mini supply is roughly in balance with demand.
If you head over to the Apple Store, you will see that the iPad mini’s availability has improved from about a week to a much more reasonably one to three days. US residents ordering today, both wi-fi and wi-fi + LTE models, should get their’s before Friday.
Of course, Apple’s iPad mini issues can’t all be attributed to an over abundance of demand as manufacturing is thought to have played a role in keeping supplies limited.
Already have an iPad mini or have you been waiting for the mothership to finally iron out production issues and catch up with demand? There is wisdom in waiting…
