Eric Schmidt: Android More Secure than iPhone
Can you believe the shtuff that comes out of Eric’s Schmidt’s mouth! It is pretty much accepted as canon that Android is less secure than a bride’s nightgown on wedding night, let alone Apple’s iPhone. We know this because survey after survey shows that the vast majority of mobile malware is targeted at devices running some version of Android.
So, when Google chairman Eric Schmidt told the executives at the Gartner Symposium that Android is more secure than iPhone, some people laughed.
Schmidt made the laughably absurd statement in response to a challenge from Gartner analyst David Willis: “If you polled many people in this audience they would say Google Android is not their principal platform [...] When you say Android, people say, wait a minute, Android is not secure.”
And, Google chairman Eric Schmidt’s answer: “Not secure? It’s more secure than the iPhone.”
And, he said it with a straight face…
