Mavericks Wallpapers: Apple Has an Easter Egg for You
But you have to go get it. Thankfully, you don’t have to leave your Mac’s home directly let alone get in the car and go anywhere. Here is what you have to do to get 43 beautiful Mavericks wallpapers for your Mac.
Your Mac uses the photos, all of which are 3200 x 2000 pixels in size, as the default images in OS X’s integrated slideshow style screensavers — i.e. Floating, Reflections, Shifting Tiles, etc. They’re stored in a folder within the Library folder, which is hidden by default.
That bit of exposition out of the way, let’s unearth the pics. In the Finder, press Command + Shift + G (a.k.a. Go menu > Go to Folder) and copy/paste the following pathway:
/Library/Screen Savers/Default Collections/
Now, leave that Finder window where it is and go to System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Desktop. Go back to the Finder and then drag each into Folders in the left sidebar of the Desktop preference pane.

Want to move the 1-National Geographic, 2-Aerial, 3-Cosmos and 4-Nature Patterns folders to someplace more convenient, like the Pictures folder in your Home directory? OK, in the Finder press Command + Shift + G, copy/paste in the following command and press Return:
/Library/Screen Savers/Default Collections/
Then click one of the folders, press Command + A (select all) and then Command + C (Copy).
Next, in the left sidebar of the same window, click Pictures and then press Command + V (Paste).
