Candidate 2, are they serious? Everyone knows all candidates are the same these days! Ahem. Apple’s OS X Yosemite Gold Master Candidate 2 is a small delta patch for last week’s Yosemite Gold Master Candidate 1. Aside from the 14A386a (vs 14A378a) build number, little if anything else visible has changed.
Additionally, Apple has seeded OS X Yosemite Beta 5 to its AppleSeed volunteer testers. Here, the builder number is also 14A386a — convergence.
Both Yosemite Gold Master Candidate 2 and Yosemite Beta 5 are available via the Mac App Store Software Update function. Registered devs can download the Yosemite Gold Master C2 from the Apple dev site.
And, just ‘cuz…
OS X Yosemite will bring a flatter, more modern look to Apple’s desktop operating system. The user interface will feature more translucency, an updated Dock, Finder windows and more, including updated core apps — Safari, Mail, iWork, etc.
All come dressed in new icons, such as the Mail icon shown above. Download all of the new Yosemite icons here.
OS X Yosemite brings better iOS integration with the Hand Off and Continuity features that make workflows device and location independent.
And, my favorite new OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 feature, the Today view in Notifications with support for extensions.
OS X Yosemite, iOS 8.1, Retina iMacs and new iPads are all expected to ship on Thursday, October 16.
Liking OS X Yosemite? Sound off, people…
