It has been nearly a month since Apple shipped the first semi-public OS X 10.10.3 beta to Apple Seed program members. Yesterday’s OS X 10.10.3 14D113C, that is Beta 5 to Seeders, brings Photos a step closer to polished.
That is, the latest version of Photos for OS X app (Build 207.13.0 > 208.17.0) leaves just two notable issues, one with favorites and a second with with missing thumbnails when restoring an Aperture-upgraded Photos library with Time Machine. New, but unfinished is the placeholder for a Photos app preview that will run while you wait for your iPhoto or Aperture library to update during installation.
For the average user, you can pretty much stick a fork in Photos.
But is there more in this seed? Not much.
OS X 10.10.3 14D113C (Beta 5) also comes paired with, aka the opportunity to download, Yosemite Recovery Update 3.
In addition to Photos for OS X, the most noted if not noteworthy changes in OS X 10.10.3 are the updated emoji picker and ethnically diversified emojis. Last week’s 14D105 build also included Force Touch for OS X, featured in the redesigned trackpads found in Apple’s 2015 newly updated MacBook Pro and, coming April 10, all-new MacBook.
