How did you celebrate the iPad’s 5th Birthday last Friday, April 3? I replaced my aging iPad 3 with a refurbished iPad Air ($339) + ClamCase Pro iPad Air Keyboard Case ($139 , Use code BEST30 for $30 off) — a solid mobile value that’s just a little more half the price of a new MacBook Air ($899).
Of course, nothing beats an iPad for battery life or durability, though can pick up a refurbished MacBook Air for as little as $679 or MacBook Pro for just $829.
As mentioned, my “new” refurbished iPad Air + ClamCase is my new mobile blogging rig and it replaces an iPad 3, which is still chugging along. However, running iOS 8.x, it was definitely starting to show its age.
Also, with a crack in the screen and a keyboard that no would longer charge or turn on, it was time to upgrade. Further, with the addition of a low-cost case and new screen protector, the iPad 3 is still desirable to my son — his iPad mini has a broken screen and the body’s a bit bent, too.
Yeah, his iPad mini still runs, but the time, money and effort to fix it are prohibitive. Sell it to Gazelle and pay for the new iPad 3 case and screen protector.
Value is often about finding compromises that put you ahead — way ahead in our case — for minimal cost…
What’s your take?
