What's new in Yosemite? OS X 10.10 brings a dozen plus new if rather familiar faces.

What’s new in OS X 10.10? While it’s tempting to say that Yosemite is more than a pretty face, much of what’s new actually involves just that, pretty faces. Specifically, OS X 10.10 brings a dozen plus new if rather familiar faces in the form of update icons.

While many have commented on how disagreeably cute the Finder icon is, the other new/updated icons have generally received a more positive reception.

Top: App Store, Calendar, Contacts, FaceTime; Bottom: iBooks, iTunes, Launchpad, Mail

Top: Maps, Messages, Notes, Preview; Bottom: Reminders, Safari, System Preferences, Trash

Added new Script Editor, Mission Controls icons, 08-19. Added new Dashboard, Keychain, Disk Utility, and Migration Assistant icons, 09-02. Added new iWork — Pages, Numbers, Keynote — icons in Yosemite Gold Master, 09-30. Added updated Finder icon, 10-09.
