The CW Coming to Apple TV? Get It Now on Roku
Cord cutting takes another step forward. At some unnamed date in the future, America’s fifth network, The CW, will be coming to the Apple TV via a dedicated app — no subscription required, though viewers will have to wait 24 hours for new episodes to post.
With more than 20 percent of its audience viewing online, The CW gets cord cutting and is expanding its digital footprint with an Apple TV app. However, the broadcaster hasn’t said when that will happen, though it seems reasonable to expect it soon.
If that’s not fast enough, or you just want more programming choices than the Apple TV offers, a Roku box plus the Plex Media Server can put The CW on your TV now, plus a whole lot more (free and pay Roku channels and scores of Plex channel plugins).
And, for what it’s worth, Roku recently added PBS and PBS Kids to its top-level channel list — it’s free.
Cord cutting has never been so good…
