Mission Log: A Roddenberry Star Trek Podcast
I’ve been a fan Ken Ray (Mac OS Ken) for awhile now and enjoy his daily (morning) take on Apple news. Now, he’s got another reason to tune in, Ray and co-host John Chapman have begun Mission Log: A Roddenberry Star Trek Podcast, which is described thusly:
Mission Log is a Roddenberry Entertainment podcast with the sole purpose of exploring the Star Trek universe one episode at a time. That’s right, this podcast will cover six different series and 30 seasons of television by journeying into every one of the 726 episodes with a single mission: to explore, debate and discuss one of the largest science fiction phenomenon of all time: Enterprise, each week our hosts will tackle a single episode, delving into the most historical and hysterical science fiction that Star Trek has to offer.
If you are a Trek nerd, Trekkie, whatever, this is the podcast for you — two geeks talking Trek in oft minute detail with the interesting aside that they have access to Gene Roddenberry’s original show notes. Moreover, Ken and John put real thought into their analysis of Star Trek, which might seem overwrought to anyone who thinks Roddenberry’s still evolving story is “just a TV show.”
For the rest of us, here’s a chance relish and dig into the inspiration and guiding light of technology, space exploration and, generally, this our humanist experiment.
So, is this the show, with enough source material to run every week for the next 13 years, we’ve got or will more be added? Or put another way, certainly there are TOS, STNG, DS9 and Voyager cast and crew members that “might” have room on their calendars.
Seriously, when geeking out on Trek, more is more.
Whilst ruminating on that, subscribe to Mission Log: A Roddenberry Star Trek Podcast.
